OUR STORY

MEET YOUR HOSTS

Hello! We are Mike and Abby Gross – your hosts!

A little bit of background: We met on a blind date. Got married. Had 4 boys. And then we bought a farm. Of course, there was a whole lot of stuff in between…

We moved to New Tripoli in 2017. Our property (70 acres) was the perfect spot to pursue our dream of establishing a cut-your-own Christmas Tree Farm.  We started planting in the Spring of 2018 with the goal of opening to the public once the trees reached maturity. Mike pulls the boys’ Radio Flyer wagon behind as he plants each seedling by hand.  Thus, “The Little Red Wagon Tree Farm” organically found its name.

In January of 2024, we bought the neighboring farm – adding another 25 acres to our footprint. (This is where you are staying!) The property includes several outbuildings, a big white barn and a beautiful old stone farmhouse. We decided to renovate the farmhouse to transform it into a short-term rental, sharing all the charm that property has to offer.

Upon entering the home, a wide center hall greets you. The first floor consists of a living room, family room, dining room, laundry room, full bath, and a large eat-in kitchen with the original stone fireplace (updated with a propane insert). The mudroom escapes to a rear deck, paver patio and the private yard. The second floor of the house features 5 large bedrooms, another full bath and a massive master with cathedral ceilings and en-suite.

The property has stream frontage on the Ontelaunee Creek along with a large pond (stocked annually) and approximately 12 acres of open pasture that crest to panoramic views. We have harmonized country charm with modern day comfort to make your stay as pleasant as possible. We hope you relax, explore and enjoy your stay.

If you have any requests, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are just a tractor ride away!

Welcome to the Farmhouse at Little Red Wagon Farm!

Nestled in the Lehigh Valley, our 1820s farmhouse is rich in history. After renovation, the house now offers the perfect balance of rustic charm and modern comfort. The stone façade and original hardwood floors begin the story, but the custom kitchen and master bedroom suite make you want to read the book all over again. With five spacious bedrooms, the house can sleep up to 13. All three (full) bathrooms have been updated, with the master en-suite featuring a clawfoot soaking tub and wrap-around windows that offer tranquil views of the property. Wake up and gather fresh eggs for breakfast. Cast a line in the pond – stocked with bass and catfish. Explore the gardens. Pick raspberries or clip tomatoes from the vine. The planting shed is stocked with supplies to cut fresh stems from the wildflower patch. Little ones can swing on the tire hanging under the shade of a large maple tree. Snuggle with our mini goats or say “hello” to Ozzie – our resident pot-bellied pig, who loves to snack on the apples and pears that fall from the fruit trees.

All the country charm, yet just a little over an hour from Philadelphia or New York City.

HISTORY LESSON

The Mosser family fled Germany in the 1730’s and settled in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.  In 1735, Johanne Phillip Mosser and his family were among the first settlers of Lynn Township purchasing 203 acres and erecting a gristmill, sawmill and a tannery on the Ontelaunee Creek – thereby establishing the village of Mosserville.

Johanne and his wife, Catherine (Mollie) had 11 children in 39 years.  One of their children, David, bought his father’s property in 1798 and in 1820 built a beautiful 3,517 square foot stone house up the hill from the mill.  Six generations of the Mosser family resided in the spacious stone house that remained in the Mosser family until the 1950’s.

Michael and Abigail Gross purchased the property in January of 2024 as an extension of Little Red Wagon Christmas Tree Farm. They spent over a year working with skilled tradesmen to update the farmhouse with modern comforts, while also showing respect to its rich history.

The farmhouse is situated on 25 picturesque acres. In addition to the farmhouse, the property includes several outbuildings – including a large white barn with loft – and a freshwater pond.
